Hi, I’m Rachel!
I grew up in California and loved being a short drive away from the heart of the fashion district. My love of arts and crafts grew to include fashion design. When I was really little I used to sew custom dresses for my barbies, and draft little patterns out of paper. I took sewing classes throughout my middle and high school years. I majored in Fashion Design and Production in college. Along with my regular coursework, I took extra classes in Metalsmithing and Jewelry, Tailoring. During my last year in college, I was the President of the Tailor Made Fashion Club, which put on the school’s annual fashion show. I received my degree in Fashion Design and Production in California.
Since then, I’ve made couture wedding dresses and designed patterns for a children’s line of hand knits. I currently design sewing and crochet patterns, dye and spin yarn, and knit and crochet custom creations. My patterns are available on Ravelry and in a dozen yarn shops across the country. My sewing patterns are available on this site and on Craftsy. I’ve also participated in several womens’ sewing bundles and have been in One Thimble magazine. My fashion designs have been featured in California Apparel News.
Wooh, you got this far? Awesome. I’m also a novelist as well as an avid reader. I constantly expand my hobbies and library whenever I get the chance. When I’m not designing, I love watching movies.
I currently live in Nevada with my wonderful husband, five silly kids, and two dogs.
